Now Hiring..?

Standing Stone
Michael Curry Design is hiring craftspeople, stitchers, painters, welders, and sculptors for a duration of 90 days. We've got a lot of work to do and not much time to do it, so we'll take all the (experienced/motivated) help we can get. Anyone interested in working on puppets and stage decorations for companies like Disney and some Las Vegas hotels?

Check out the website for more info: http://michaelcurrydesign.com/gallery.html

The shop is located 30mi north of Portland, OR. Rent near the shop is about $500/mo for a 2-bedroom. There are rooms to rent in the area, as well. No, you can't live with me :)

Use the contact form on the website if you're interested in applying for short-term employment. It could turn into long-time employment if they like you. :)

Little Dragon with Dreadlocks

Small Damn Heroes
Here's a small critter I made with Wendy Froud one afternoon in Los Angeles while we waited for Brian and the boys (Robert and Toby) to return from the store. She made some small critters that day, as well. :)

This guy is made of sculpey, a little acrylic paint, a piece of slate, snail shell, pillbug exoparts, a stick, a pod, and some crazy felted wool Wendy had in her Bag of Tricks(TM).

Today I'm cataloging and uploading all of my crafty projects...can you tell? :)

Antler Crown

Pan - chillin
Here's another recent project; it's a crown with Roe deer antlers, Lemurian quartz and green Tourmaline crystals, a carnelian cabochon, some leather, and the base is resin. It ties around the head with the leather.

There are Norse Runes carved in the top around the carnelian gem.

Here is a larger version for detail: http://www.lostimolo.com/craft/antlercrown_large.jpg

also: Widget says "zzzz...wha? oh. yes, I will pose for your photo, silly human."

Crow Stick

Magic Birdy
I got crafty last night (I do this during fits of angst/confusion about mortal human problems) and made a smudge stick. This one is made from driftwood from the Oregon coast, a chunk of Carnelian I found in the Clackamas river, crow feathers I found along the same river, and some acorns I found at a park. The other bits (leather, sinew, antler tine) I bought at a local leather craft shop in downtown Portland.

I realized today that I should really post more of my crafts online.

BEHOLD

SKILLS - napoleon dynamite
I opened my LJ back up again, and simply made most of my earlier posts private (deleting them would take too much time, since mass deletion doesn't appear to be an automated LJ feature yet). Some things are F-locked...funny things and art posts will not be locked.

I'll try to update this more often with actual artwork posts...you know, when I start drawing again. Which better be soon. dammit

satyrs gone wild

LOL in my PANTS

made this from a photo from this weekend. Toby Froud was in his satyr costume on stilts...and he was pole dancing in the World of Froud tent.

Robert Gould (president of Imaginosis and someone I like to torment on a regular basis) then shoved wads of money in Toby's furry pants.

...I suddenly realized I was the straightest person in that tent

I took a quick break to remind Widget why he shouldn't wake me up at 4:30am.
